Mom and Dad were so kind to bring our family out to Utah for conference this April. We left Addi with Karina since she is not yet old enough to attend conference. We flew in late Thursday night and were all so happy to see Nana and Pop. We stayed across the hall from them in the downtown Marriott. I think all of our favorite part of this hotel was the warm cookies in the concierge lounge each evening. Friday morning Jason and I got up early and attended the 6 am session at the Salt Lake Temple. It was amazing! Neither of us had even been inside this temple before. Mom and Dad had meeting until the late afternoon that day so we toured around Salt Lake City. We did some shopping at the Gateway Mall, had lunch at Cafe Rio, and went to "This is the Place" monument. That evening we went to dinner with Mom and Dad at Cheesecake Factory and did some shopping at Deseret Book and walked around the new City Creek Mall. Saturday morning we arrived at the conference center early to get AMAZING SEATS for the first session of conference. Dad took the kids down to the General Authority area and they were able to meet Elder Nelson, Elder Perry, Sister Uchtdorf, Sister Thompson, as well as others. This was such an amazing experience for them! They did so well listening to all of the talks and taking amazing notes. Mom made a deal with them that if they took great notes and listened well that she would get them all a set of scripture markers. They did great! After the first session was over we went to lunch in Dad's office. We then toured temple square during the afternoon session. We visited the visitor centers, watched some videos, saw the replica of the temple, walked the grounds, and toured the Beehive House while Mom and Dad attended conference. Jason and Dad went to Priesthood that evening while we went to dinner, went to the top of the Joseph Smith Memorial Bldg., and enjoyed walking around temple square. Each of the kids took turns sleeping over in Nana and Pop's room, which they loved! Sunday morning was a cold and rainy day! The kids decided that they wanted to attend both sessions of conference that day. They did amazingly well!!!! All of the talks were awesome, but our families favorite was President Uchtdorf's "Stop It" talk. We went to lunch in the "lunch room" that day and sat with Elder and Sister Groberg. Hailee was "star struck" and loved meeting them since she loves the movie "The Other Side of Heaven" which is about his mission. That evening we went up to Park City to see John and his family and Brian. It snowed on us!!! Monday we enjoyed a full day with Mom and Dad since they did not have any meeting. We went and saw the movies "Joseph Smith" and "Legacy". We then had lunch at the Lion House and had an backstage tour of the conference center that Dad arranged for us. We unfortunately then had to leave for the airport! We had such a wonderful, spiritual trip and LOVED the time with Mom and Dad. What a tremendous blessing it was for us and our children to get to be that close to our prophet and other leader and hear their words!
